Sailing right north of Lefkada, you reach Sazakiniko on the west coast. The rocky coastal section, made of white ash deposits, is known for its bizarre lunar landscape. Even if you do not have a beach nearby, you can take a short break to swim before continuing to Gaios. But drive from the north, since the entrance from the south is only two miles deep. The island of Paxos and especially Gaios is very popular and not yet overrun. Taverns, restaurants and numerous bars contribute to a relaxed atmosphere.
Best of Greece – Corfu
From Gaios we continue to Corfu, where you have to visit one of the local tavernas in Corfu town and have a Mediterranean dinner in the old town. Corfu is also known for its fantastic sand and pebble beaches, but also for the rocky west coast. Today you start from Gouvia from the north-east to the Kouloura bay and further around the North Cape of Corfu.
Enjoy the picturesque beauty in the Ionian Sea. On the bays of Othoni, Mathraki to Paleokastritsa you will find fantastic coves that invite you to linger. Continue on the way southwards, andyou sail past many beautiful beaches. The day ends, when you reach the fishing port Lakka at the northern tip of Paxos. Lakka offers a wide selection of tavernas and bars around the harbor, which invite you to romantic walks.
Parga to Preveza
Continue via Parga to Preveza, a harbor town on the Greek west coast, at the exit of the Ambracian Gulf.
